The Delaware Academy of Family Physicians considers medical students our future new members! Delaware does not have its own medical school, but we pride ourselves on providing quality medical education training for both allopathic and osteopathic medical students.
Opportunities for Medical Students
Eligibility
Students enrolled in allopathic or osteopathic medical schools that are approved by appropriate U.S. accrediting institutions as defined by the AAFP Commission on Education
Benefits of Student Membership
- Student members receive the American Family Physician, access to the AAFP website, and significantly reduced rates for conferences and education materials.
- Student members may run for national office including the Student Board position on the American Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors.

National Conference of Family Medicine Residents
National Conference brings together many of the most promising medical students and residents, who all share a passion for family medicine and a common goal to become the best physician possible.
Family Medicine Interest Groups
FMIGs are a great way for students who are already committed to (or curious about) a career in family medicine. Check with your medical school- you probably have a local family medicine interest group. You may also find the AAFP's virtual FMIG site useful.
