Community Service Programs & Events
Throughout the year the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians participates in a number of community events. The Community Outreach Committee is always seeking new members and ideas for events. Contact the Executive Director or committee chair for more information. We look forward to seeing you at a DAFP sponsored event!

Goals of the program are to:
- Educate and motivate students to be tobacco free.
- Mobilize health care professionals to become proactive in their community’s health education.
- Encourage community involvement in support of the Tar Wars program.
Annual Statewide Poster Competition
Each year 4th & 5th grade students across the state of Delaware are invited to participate in the Tar Wars poster contest.

On May 20, the contest winners, runner-ups, faculty, family medicine residents, and family and friends were invited to the Wilmington Blue Rocks game. The winners’ names were announced over the speaker at the game, and the winners received checks and certificates.
